A huge thank you to Ashleigh Raddatz for asking me to be the juror for this important exhibit. It was an honor to consider all of the submissions and take on the challenge of choosing a final 50.

I approached the theme for this exhibit, “Transforming Perspectives”, as an opportunity to explore what family is. What it means and looks like to different people, cultures, and generations. With so many exceptional submissions to choose from, I focused on the pieces that displayed a unique perspective that not only reflected the diversity of what family is but also examined the recurring themes seen in family. Struggle, love, tension, companionship, fun, support and so much more.

In order to facilitate a well-rounded experience for attendees, I considered the final 50 as being part of a cohesive collection, while also ensuring each piece told its own story.

Thank you to everyone who submitted work to this exhibition. There was beautiful and impactful work that was not included which simply told a different story than the one this show tells. Congratulations to the chosen photographers and thank you for allowing us to include your work in this collection.
